Tóm tắt

The quantitative approach was employed in this study. A 3-week training course using collocations in descriptive paragraph writing for 38 English majored freshmen at DNTU was organized. Pre-test and post-test questionnaire surveys were conducted to explore the students' perspectives toward the application of collocations in the writing course. The results showed that using collocations in the English writing lessons helped improve writing skills for the English majored freshmen at DNTU, and the freshmen who participated in the study had positive attitudes towards the application of collocations in the English writing course.
